The Afghan Choora is a large rugged and rustic knife used by the tribes of the Khyber Pass either in camp or battle.

A similar model is still used today by Afghan fighters.

Hand forged 1060 high carbon steel blade. Heavy T section blade can pierce even the stoutest mail or armour.

Brass bolster is welded into place for extra strength.

Handle finished with thick buffalo horn scales.

Blade 28.5cm. Overall length 43cm.

Weight 0.7kg.

Leather sheath with brass fittings included.

Type of Charay knife originally used in Indo-Persia but popularity quickly spread accross the near east.

Famed for its use against the British by the native tribes of the Khyber Pass area.

Still in use in Afganistan, Pakistan and Northern India today.

Scabbard worn thrust , unsecured in a number of positions under the belt.

Aged finish on the entire knife and scabbard.

Worked and pianted brass and buffalo horn grip.

Full tang profile with customary ring at the end of the grip, used for a wrist tie-down.

T shaped 57cm x 5cm blade with strong raised spine along the full length.

Overall length 73cm. Weight 0.9kg.

Kirpan Traditional Sikh Knife

A Kirpan is a traditional Sikh knife carried as part of a religious commandment.

Guru Gobind Singh stated in 1699 that Sikhs should always wear five articles of faith, the Kirpan being one.

Sikhs are to be Saint Soldiiers that embody mercy, grace, compassion and honour.

Made from hand forged 1065 high carbon steel with full profile tang.

Impressive high quality brass and hand finished scales.

Bolsters feature the Sikh religious symbol and One Creator or god symbol ‘Ik Onkar’

Includes matching wooden sheath.

Marmeluke Schimitar

During the Egyptian campaign the scimitars of the Marmelukes were terribly effective and impressive.

Bonaparte even organised a body of Marmelukes for his Consular and Imperial Guard.

The broad very curved blades were gradually replaced by French blades 83cm x 3m and varied and lavish decorations changed. Symbols used vaguely represented ancient hieroglyphs.

Characteristic ‘pistol grip’ wooden handle with the eyecup being used to fix a strap. Brass cross guard with pointed ends.

Overall length 98cm.

Weight 1.3kg.

Looks the part.

This sword type made the official officer’s sword of the Soviet Union.
